A poster is a large poster, usually with an image or photograph, which is hung on a wall as a decorative element. The poster can be a communication exposed on a plank at a scientific congress.

The term POSTER comes from the English poster (sign that is placed on a pole), but also from the Latin. It is the sum of two parts: "postis", which is synonymous with "post", and the suffix "-er", which will be the "agent". In general, the poster has no advertising purpose or has lost this property.

The first World Cup of Soccer in 1930 was realized in Uruguay, between the 13 and the 30 of July of 1930; and only one poster was created for such an event. D1 16 teams, finally participated only thirteen and had the idea that all parties were in the Centennial State of Montevideo, built specifically for that occasion. The stadium, called "football temple" by Jules Rimet, had a capacity of 90,000 spectators, it was the largest stadium in the world outside the British Isles.


The 64 scheduled games will be played in 12 stadiums located in 11 different cities. FIFA has already announced the official posters of each venue.

All World Championships have images that remain in the collective memory of all football fans, and each time is also competing through the creativity of the artists. Each of the official posters of the next World Cup 2018 has its own design, its own identity. We started with Moscow, the capital. Moscow is one of the great capitals of the world, rich in historic and emblematic architecture, also focused on a bright young future. MOSCOW. Luzhnikí Olympic Stadium and Spartak Stadium.

Moscow is the headquarters of the World Cup in 2018, his passion for football, energy, dynamism and fun is displayed in a poster full of colorful and different decorative ornaments that create a magical union between the city and the sport king.

EKATERIMBURGO. Central Stadium.

Ekaterinburg, with a population of 1,372,8000 inhabitants (fourth most populous city of Russia), is located near the Urals mountains, on the border between Europe and Asia. It is one of the most important sports and artistic centers of the country. In the poster stands as a main figure a malachite stone flower that takes the form of a soccer ball. The "stone flower" is a semiprecious stone characteristic in the region, and also recalls one of the novels of the outstanding Russian writer, Pável Bazhov.


KALININGRADO. Baltika Arena.

It is a port city founded by the knights of the Teutonic Order, at the mouth of the Pregel River which in turn connects with the Baltic Sea, is an important gateway to Europe. In this city lived characters like the philosopher Emmanuel Kant, the composer Richard Wagner or the writer E.T.A. Hoffmann. The design represents the spirit of a footballer born from the waters trying to control with heart and chest a glowing ball of amber 'the stone of the sun', Kaliningrad is the main source of amber in Europe.


KAZÁN. Kazán Arena.

The most populous city of the Republic of Tatarstan and the most important city of Russia after Moscow. It is one of the main political, educational, economic and cultural centers of the country. The white snow leopard, symbol of the Tartar Republic, is situated in a golden football stadium where the billboards are represented with the colors of the flag of Tartaria.


 NICHNI NÓVGOROD. Nizhny Novgorod Stadium.

Nizhny Novgorod is one of the most populous cities in Russia and an important cultural and business center for the country. The poster was made with a pictorial technique of traditional Russian elaboration, called Khokhloma. They use red and gold ornaments that provide a dynamic finish.


ROSTOV DEL DON. Rostov-on-Don Stadium.

Modern city with more than one million inhabitants and beautiful views of the 4th longest river in Europe, the river Don. The ball shows the colors of the Rostov del Don flag as an integrating element of other symbols of the region such as horse, oak or water.



SAMARA. Stadium of Samara.

Samara is one of the most important cities of Volga, great industrial and transport center for Russia. It is located next to the longest and largest river in Europe, the Volga River, which passes through the city is 2 km wide. The poster shows lines and geometric figures that create a composition with upward tensions, with vivid and varied colors. The image depicts the strength and energy of the footballer and other traditional monuments such as the Ladya complex and the Monument to Glory.


St. Petersburg. New stadium of FC Zenit.

The second most populated city of Russia is in turn the highest incarnation of artistic talent. The best architects left their legacy in this beautiful city whose center was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Flat colors are used to show the cathedrals of St. Isaac and Smolny, the Admiralty tower and the door of the Summer Palace.



Saransk. Yubileyniy Stadium.

Saransk, capital of the Republic of Mordovia, is situated in the center of Russia, where the rivers Insar and Saranka meet. It is small but has an important sport participation. The main element of the poster is the 'bird of creation' of Mordovian mythology, it takes the shape of a balloon and symbolizes life and nature. It is a minimalist design which highlights the importance of the World Cup for the city of Saransk.



Sochi. Sochi Olympic Stadium.

Located between the Caucasus Mountains and the Black Sea, Sochi, reached world-wide fame because it hosted the Olympic Winter Games in 2014. It is also known with the nickname of 'Russian Riviera'. The design presents in symbiosis the snowy mountains and the black sea.



Volgograd. Central Stadium.

Volgograd, formerly called Stalingrad, is located on the banks of the Volga River. It was the scene of great battles during World War II, the statue of "Mother Motherland" is one of its most representative monuments. The poster shows geometric shapes reminiscent of the FIFA World Cup trophy.
