From less to more: The best year for the Peruvian
soccer team

Qualifying, Peru is playing well and has overcome all negative predictions, no
longer loses in the last minutes, wins visit, by thrashing and comes alive to
the last dates. In the last two dates he has shown it clearly and forcefully.
In the World Cup
Qualifiers, first round on Thursday, August 31, 2017, Peru defeated Bolivia by
2 to 1 at the Estadio Monumental de Lima. With this victory, Peru increased its
score in 3 units and stayed very close to the play area. Peru won Bolivia with
goals from Edison Flores and Christian Cueva. Gilbert Álvarez scored the goal
of Bolivia, so the Peruvian team was placed in the sixth position in the date
number 15 of the Qualifiers.

Five days later the
Peruvian team faced Ecuador in Quito, on date 16 of the South American
Qualifiers. On Tuesday, September 5, at the Estadio Olímpico Atahualpa, Quito,
Peru returned to win by 2 to 1, after a vibrant and intense match. The goals of
Peru, in the last twenty minutes of the party, were Edison Flores; two minutes
later, Hurtado, just entered the field, would culminate a counterattack to put
the 2-0.
With this result, and
Chile's defeat in La Paz, Peru relies on itself to qualify for the 2018 World
Cup in Russia, it now has 24 points and there is a lack of play against
Argentina and Colombia to close the qualifiers. At the moment it is in the
fourth position.
